Welcome to Radio 3 Nature Programme. Today. I’ll talk about Phong Nha- Ke Bans National Park, one of the eight world heritage sites in Viet Nam. It is located in central of Quang Binh Province, about 500 km south of Ha Noi. the capital of Viet Nam. Thanks to its complex geological structure with different kinds of stone, Phong Nha – Bang can be compared to a huge geological museum. Phong Nha- Ke Bang mountain can provide a lot of valuable information about the Earth’s geological developing through various periods. One geological characteristic to notice here is the system underground rivers, grottos and caves in the limestone mountains.

The park is in an area with a high average rainfall; however, few rivers and streams can be seen here because the water is absorbed inside the limestone mountains. As a result, tens of millions of years, water has been eroding the rocks, creating numerous grottos aril] caves. Phong Nha- Ke Bang is famous for its caves such as Phong Nha, Tien Son and Thien Duong Caves. Son Doong Cave is considered to be the largest one in the world with 200 metres in height, 200 metres in width, and at least 8.5 kilometres in length.

Vẻ đẹp tự nhiên của nơi có giá trị địa chất là một điểm nổi bật khác của Tràng An – Tam Cốc – Bích Động không chỉ có cảnh quan thiên nhiên mà còn là khu sinh thái. Hơn nữa, khu vực này nổi tiếng với phong cảnh hùng vĩ của núi đá vôi (núi đỉnh được bao quanh bởi các thung lũng và đá dốc.)

Là một nơi có giá trị văn hoá và tự nhiên, Di sản Tràng An được bảo tồn tốt. Du khách ngạc nhiên khi thấy rằng danh thắng này có hơn 800 loài thực vật và động vật.

Khu di tích thắng cảnh Tràng An đã được UNESCO công nhận là di sản văn hoá thế giới năm 2014, đã đạt được các tiêu chuẩn của UNESCO sự tổng hòa thiên nhiên và văn hóa nhân loại.
